Marvin Ng, MBA,
BSc (Microbiology)
Marvin is a microbiologist by training. He obtained his First Class Honours Degree in Microbiology under a scholarship from the University of British Columbia (Canada) and subsequently, his Masters in Business Administration under a graduate fellowship from Simon Fraser University (Canada).
Marvin started his career in the petroleum industry with Exxon-Mobil before joining Hewlett-Packard as a senior financial analyst overseeing financial control for new product development. In 1999, Marvin became a pioneer member of a local biotech-IT start-up where he was instrumental in raising the company’s first round of funds from investors. He also secured the company’s first major contract from a prominent cancer research organisation in Singapore. Marvin then joined Singapore’s leading economic agency – the Economic Development Board, where he was responsible for investment promotion of European pharmaceutical and medical technology companies and in the development of strategic policies to promote Singapore’s Biomedical Sciences industry.
Since 2001, Marvin has been the director of DN Venture Partners LLP where he has consulted for prominent organisations from around the world including pharmaceutical companies, medical technology companies, scientific organisations, government agencies and investors. He has also conducted research projects on intellectual property and innovation at the IP Academy and the National University of Singapore.
